The Minister of Justice has published statistics relating to activity in the family courts of England and Wales.

The statistics show that the number of cases that started in the family courts in England and Wales in April to June 2015 rose by 4% to 59,908, nearly half of these new cases are divorce cases.

In addition to this, statistics demonstrate that 56% of care proceedings were disposed of within 26 weeks conforming to the 26 week time limit for these cases introduced by the Children and Families Act 2014.

Also, figures show that there has been an increase in the number of applications for non-molestation domestic violence remedy orders since the end of 2012.
