  • Samantha was admitted to the Law Society as a solicitor in 2003 and has specialised in family law ever since;
  • is a long-standing member of Resolution upholding their code of conduct in her work every day;
  • has in-depth knowledge and experience in children’s law and is Children Law Accredited with SRA ID 313874;
  • is passionate about representing those involved in Public Law matters (also known as Care Proceedings) as well as private law children matters where parents cannot agree on arrangements for their children pre or post-separation;
  • also undertakes private divorce matters, and has been involved in some very complex Care Proceedings cases during her career including a matter where she was appointed 2nd Advocate to support Counsel due to the complexity of that matter;
  • where possible Samantha will undertake the advocacy on her own cases and if unable to do so, she will ensure that a Barrister of the relevant experience is booked in plenty of time for the hearing;
  • represents parents at Public Law Outline meetings (also known as Meeting Before Proceedings or Pre-Proceedings meetings) with Children’s Services;

  • Ellie is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is aiming to be fully qualified in 2023;
  • Has over 4 years of experience in case handling and holds a diverse caseload of legal aid and privately paying matters;
  • Experience in a wide range of family law issues including divorce and financial matters, child arrangements and domestic abuse injunctions;
  • Regularly represents parents in the Pre-Proceedings process initiated by local authorities and experience in representing clients in Care Proceedings;
  • Where possible, conducts her own advocacy at directions hearings in order to try and give clients continuity;
  • Experienced in dealing with complex domestic abuse cases and a passion for helping vulnerable clients;

  • Began her career over 12 years for a firm of Brighton-based solicitors, as a member of the finance team where she trained as a legal cashier.
  • Previously worked as a Management Accounts Assistant and Finance Analyst whilst obtaining her AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and worked towards her Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting.
  • In 2022 Rosie joined Brighton and Hove Law as the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the financial side of the business, ensuring that transactions are handled in a timely and professional manner. She is the point of contact for any billing questions or financial queries for clients.
  • The solicitors and Rosie work closely together to ensure that Brighton and Hove Law give a professional service and the highest standard of care to all of their clients.

  • has been working as a legal secretary in private practice since the late 1980s and has many years of experience in a wide area of law, the last 15 being in family law;
  • joined Brighton and Hove Law in April 2022 as the Practice Administrator, dealing with the firm’s admin and client enquiries;
  • she is the first point of contact with the firm, with particular emphasis on taking care of the smooth running of the business, ensuring that clients’ needs are met and liaising with the Accounts Department;
  • the lawyers and Kerry work closely together to ensure that Brighton and Hove Law gives a professional service and the highest standard of care to all clients.
